Duties and
Responsibilities:
The Technical Writer, will create, edit, and
organize highly technical information and turn it into meaningful value-driven
outputs for internal and external audiences. The Technical Writer will be
primarily responsible for developing, supporting, and maintaining, procedural,
and technical documentation. This role involves tasks such as writing
conceptual overviews and procedures, technical documentation for software development,
and user manuals.
Update documentation
with a guiding principle to communicate complex information clearly, concisely,
and accurately without using jargon.

Write a variety of technical documents; design
specifications, diagrams, manuals (system and end users) white papers, flow
chats, reports, and/or manuals

Consume raw technical details provided by the various
SME’s and construct appropriate documentation to the detail and level required
by the document consumers

Coordinate the display of graphics and the
production of the document

Ensure content is of
high quality and conforms with standards for technical accuracy, grammar,
punctuation, readability, and document formatting

Produce and update documentation on product features including user
manuals, operations guides, flow diagrams, scripts, strategy and policy
documents, and standard operating procedures

Write new content in the style that is most suitable for each target
audience

Edit copy for voice, tone, and accuracy

Map out frameworks and methodologies that are easy to understand

Manage and refine existing content in need of refresh and/or revamp

Partner with the team members to inventory, organize, and publish
content into our content management tools and knowledge bases

Review content analytics to understand customer impact and inform future
content creation decisions

Conduct quality assurance reviews and implement revisions to in-app text

Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure timely
delivery of all documentation and other deliverables for each release.

Understand the complexities of our product/technology so you can clearly
communicate how it works and why it matters.
Requirements
Minimum
Qualifications/Experience:
-
3+ years of experience as a Technical Writer
-
3+ years’ experience in technical communication, which includes but is
not limited to technical writing, software specification writing, instructional
design, technical editing, copyediting or proofreading, quality assurance, and
user experience design

Ability to translate
jargon into plain English, in a concise manner, for non-technical end-users

Ability to logically
categorize new information into existing taxonomies and consider how new
information impacts existing information

Familiar with the documentation lifecycle and corresponding quality
assurance reviews

Experience with gathering feedback and measuring success in
documentation efforts (e.g., usage analytics, real-time critical feedback,
gathering business feedback, etc.)

Experience developing and maintaining information architectures for
technical documentation, including Knowledge Management or CMS systems
-
Proficiency in MS Office products.

Ability to make sound writing decisions with little input from
supervisors.

Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Ability to communicate effectively throughout all levels within an
organization.
Minimum Education:
-
Bachelor's Degree AND 3+ years’ experience
working with developers, testers, analysts, and other subject matter experts
(SME) to create, assimilate, develop, and convey technical material in a
concise and effective manner for the application documentation support
activities
Required Certifications:
-
PMP, CSM, ITIL, and/or SAFe
(Certification would be a plus)
