
About the Role:
The Program Coordinator – DME plays a key role in supporting the daily operational needs of the Durable Medical Equipment program. This position ensures smooth coordination between referral sources, healthcare providers, patients, and internal teams to maintain efficient business operations.
As stated in the job description: “Responsible for performing the daily operational needs associated with assigned program and provide support to other health care agencies to ensure efficient operation of the business unit.”
Key Responsibilities:
Manage incoming referrals, ensuring accurate data entry, complete documentation, and timely processing.
Confirm delivery and pickup tickets, including scanning and documentation.
Oversee monthly billing processes, including audits, appeals, and claim follow‑up.
Serve as the primary point of contact for program referral sources, resolving issues and escalating when needed.
Communicate with referral sources, healthcare providers, patients, and families regarding documentation requirements and referral progress.
Assist management in reviewing funding source contracts.
Support inventory processes, including cyclic and annual counts.
Ensure program readiness for CHAPS survey compliance.
Assess client healthcare needs and identify additional medically appropriate products or services.
Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of insurance requirements and regulations; prepare monthly productivity reports.
Maintain product line knowledge to support training, cross‑selling, and promotional efforts.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: 2–3 years of experience in Durable Medical Equipment (DME) preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
Annual CEUs as required.
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record (per organizational policy).
Ability to use Meritus or personal vehicles in accordance with policy guidelines.
Skills & Abilities:
Previous medical experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of insurance rules and regulations.
Excellent communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
