About this role
Rotorua Lakes Council is seeking a proactive and community-focused individual to join our team as a Community Support Officer on a 12-month basis, helping deliver a safe, welcoming, and vibrant inner city experience for our residents and visitors.
In this role, you’ll support the Inner City Manager, and to a lesser extent, the Team Leader Community Compliance, in providing a customer-responsive approach to a range of inner city services. This includes contributing to Safe City Guardian operations, CCTV monitoring, and Parking Services, ensuring our city centre remains safe, accessible, and enjoyable for everyone.
You’ll be a key point of contact on the ground, engaging with the public, responding to issues, and supporting the effective day-to-day delivery of services across the inner city. Your ability to build positive relationships, remain calm under pressure, and provide practical solutions will be essential.
What you’ll bring:
• Strong customer service skills and a community-minded approach
• Ability to engage positively with a wide range of people
• Good problem-solving skills and sound judgement
• Confidence working both independently and as part of a team
• Experience in monitoring systems, compliance, or public-facing roles (desirable)
