
Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C. is hiring a Recon Service Supervisor in Baltimore, Maryland. The Recon Service Supervisor is responsible for leading and supervising the daily operations of the Recon and Machine Shop functions. This role ensures that safety is consistently prioritized in all shop activities and that component rebuild, repair, machining, welding, inspection, and assembly processes are executed with quality, efficiency, and accuracy. This position supports production goals, drives operational excellence, and ensures customer and business expectations are met by delivering dependable, timely, and high-quality rebuilt components.
Seeking candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent; minimum of five years’ service-related experience in heavy construction equipment industry. Previous leadership and supervisory experience a plus.
Requirements for the Recon Service Supervisor position include:
Physical requirements must be met for the Recon Service Supervisor job, including regularly being required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or more up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Starting Compensation Range: $75,000 – $90,000 per year
Actual base salary may vary based on experience, skills, qualifications, education, geographic location, and other relevant business considerations. In addition to base salary, the compensation package may include participation in performance-based incentive programs (e.g., discretionary or non-discretionary plans), as well as overtime eligibility depending on the role.
