Muck Rack is the leading SaaS platform for public relations and communications professionals. They are seeking a collaborative and self-motivated Senior DevOps Engineer to help build and improve the infrastructure, tooling, and deployment systems that support the engineering organization.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with DevOps and application engineering teams to design and improve standardized infrastructure, deployment workflows, and CI/CD pipelines
- Build, operate, and continuously improve our containerized infrastructure, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency
- Bring deep expertise in Kubernetes and its ecosystem, helping define best practices and support adoption across engineering teams
- Manage and evolve cloud infrastructure on AWS, including compute, networking, and storage systems
- Improve observability, monitoring, and incident readiness across production systems
- Participate in a shared on-call rotation (approximately 1 week every 5 weeks), responding to and resolving production incidents
- Mentor teammates and share knowledge to improve engineering practices and operational maturity across the organization
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure, or platform engineering roles
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production environments
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform
- Solid experience working with AWS (e.g., EKS, S3, IAM, RDS, VPC, Route53)
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, CircleCI, Jenkins, or Argo CD
- Experience working with containerized systems such as Docker and containerd
- Familiarity with cloud security best practices and modern approaches to securing infrastructure, including shift-left principles
- Experience operating and scaling high-traffic systems and large-scale data platforms in production environments
- Strong problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to debugging and system design
- Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a distributed environment
- Experience improving developer workflows and reducing friction in deployment and infrastructure processes
- Familiarity with tools in the Kubernetes ecosystem such as Helm, Argo CD, and Karpenter
- Experience enhancing observability through monitoring, alerting, and logging systems
- Experience contributing to infrastructure documentation and internal enablement efforts
- Interest in continuously evaluating and adopting new technologies where they provide clear value
