SiriusPoint is a specialty underwriter providing solutions to clients and brokers around the world. The Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of enterprise technology infrastructure and platforms, ensuring systems are secure, stable, and aligned with business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with stakeholders in business functions and senior management to develop and manage enhancements and maintenance of our core Reinsurance systems with the product team
- Investigate and resolve production incidents, service requests, and defects within defined SLAs
- Perform technical analysis using logs, database queries, and application diagnostics
- Support batch processing, reconciliations, and end‑of‑period activities
- Serve as primary escalation point with DXC and other third-party vendors for defects, hotfixes, environment issues, and roadmap-related operational items
- Support and troubleshoot API integrations and data flows between Assure Reinsurance/SICS and other enterprise systems using DXC’s API framework approach
- Diagnose integration failures end-to-end: payload validation, authentication/authorization, routing, transformations, retry logic, and downstream processing
- Maintain support documentation: runbooks, known error database, service maps, and support handover artifacts
- Ensure performance, reliability, scalability, and security of both cloud‑native and legacy integration services
- Identify bottlenecks, troubleshoot production issues across heterogeneous platforms, and implement sustainable fixes
- Apply best practices for code quality, testing, observability, automation, and documentation
- Translate operational issues into business impact language for stakeholders in underwriting operations, technical accounting, claims, and finance
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
- 3–7+ years of experience in systems engineering, infrastructure engineering, or operations roles
- Solid understanding of serverless and cloud‑native architectures, including security, observability, and cost optimization
- Experience designing and implementing microservices‑based and integration‑centric architectures
- Strong expertise in developing and consuming RESTful APIs
- Working experience with Microsoft technologies, including: .NET Core / .NET 6+, C#, MS SQL Server, Supporting, maintaining, and refactoring existing .NET‑based services
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes (EKS)
- Experience working with data platforms and databases, such as PostgreSQL, Redshift, Snowflake, Databricks, or comparable cloud data technologies
- Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines, source control, and automation tools (e.g., Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub)
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross‑functional teams
- Familiarity with backup, disaster recovery, and high‑availability architectures
- Working knowledge of security principles, patching, and access controls
- Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of reinsurance operations: treaty/facultative administration, technical accounting, claims, or retrocession
- Exposure to ACORD or structured insurance data exchange standards
- Ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects
- Experience managing international teams a plus
