Contract: 24 months

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer 3 with a strong focus on IBM IQ (formerly Sybase IQ) to support enterprise data infrastructure environments. This role involves designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing large-scale data systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in IBM IQ architecture and a solid background in infrastructure engineering within complex enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and maintain IBM IQ database environments across distributed systems
• Monitor system performance and implement tuning strategies for optimal efficiency
• Manage database upgrades, patches, and migrations
• Ensure high availability and disaster recovery solutions are in place and tested regularly
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including DevOps, Data Engineering, and Security
• Automate infrastructure processes using scripting tools (Shell, Python, etc.)
• Troubleshoot and resolve system and database-related issues
• Maintain documentation for infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures
• Implement and enforce security best practices for data infrastructure

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering or database administration
• Hands-on experience with IBM IQ (Sybase IQ) in production environments
• Strong understanding of Linux/Unix systems administration
• Experience with performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) is a plus
• Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.)
• Knowledge of networking, storage, and virtualization concepts
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with enterprise data warehousing solutions
• Exposure to ETL tools and data pipeline frameworks
• Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
• Relevant certifications in database or infrastructure technologies
