Full-Time Control Room Operator

Challenger Security is seeking a professional and highly motivated Licensed Control Room Operators to join our team at one of Melbourne’s most prestigious commercial sites.

As a Control Room Operator, you will be responsible for the effective monitoring and coordination of security operations, ensuring the safety of tenants, visitors, and assets within this iconic Melbourne landmark.

About the Role

*Must have Control Room Operator on Security licence*

The Control Room is the nerve centre of our client’s security operation. Our control room operators not only safeguard people and property but also help protect the building’s prestige, tenant confidence, and business continuity. Their ability to detect, assess, and respond to events in real time is critical to maintaining a safe and secure environment for thousands of people who work in or visit the site each day.

Our Control Room Operators on this site play a pivotal role in the day-to-day security and safety operations of one of Melbourne’s most iconic commercial precincts. Working from the building’s Security Control Room, our control room operators act as the central communication and coordination point for all security and emergency responses within the precinct.

You will be working a rotating roster and as part of a wider security team managed by an onsite security manager.

Employment: Full Time

 Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor electronic security systems, including CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
• Coordinate incident response and support on-site security teams.
• Manage communications across multiple channels, including radio, telephone, and incident management software.
• Accurately record and report incidents in real-time.
• Assist with emergency management procedures and critical incident response.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Current Victorian Security Licence (Control Room endorsement essential).
• Previous experience in a Security Control Room or Operations Centre environment.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• High attention to detail with excellent situational awareness.
• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
• Intermediate computer literacy (MS Office, incident management systems).
