Shyld AI builds safety-critical robotics systems deployed on real-world devices, and they are hiring a Platform Software Engineer to join their cloud team. The role involves designing and building the platform for cloud services and device fleet, contributing to the reliability and safety of systems deployed across cloud and edge environments.
Responsibilities:
- Design and build platform systems on GCP (compute, networking, storage, IAM) using infrastructure-as-code (Terraform)
- Develop Python services, automation, and internal APIs; write analytical queries in BigQuery as needed
- Build data pipelines and analytics APIs to turn system and device data into operational insights
- Develop internal platform services that enable product and robotics teams to move efficiently at scale
- Build and evolve CI/CD and release systems for backend and device/firmware components
- Implement observability (logging, metrics, tracing, alerting) as a platform capability
- Build secure systems for authentication, authorization, and secrets management (IAM, RBAC, OAuth/OIDC, KMS)
- Improve platform reliability through system design, testing, and failure-mode analysis
- Contribute to SOC 2–aligned systems with a focus on auditability and correctness
Requirements:
- 4+ years building distributed systems as a software or platform engineer
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and system design skills
- Experience with GCP and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform)
- Strong Python experience in production systems
- Experience with authentication, authorization, and secrets management
- Familiarity with SOC 2–aligned engineering practices
- Experience with IoT, edge, or device-based systems
