Infinite Computer Solutions is seeking a Business Continuity Analyst Technical Writer to support a local health care organization. The role involves drafting and maintaining business continuity and disaster recovery plans, collaborating with various stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Author, edit, and maintain business continuity plans (BCP), disaster recovery plans (DRP), standard operating procedures (SOPs), and incident response guides
- Collaborate with business units and IT partners to develop, document, and update robust business continuity and disaster recovery plans
- Conduct Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and risk assessments to identify critical business functions and dependencies
- Track regulatory requirements and assist with audits to ensure compliance with relevant healthcare, industry, and accreditation standards
- Translate complex technical, financial, or engineering information into clear, concise, and actionable language for various audiences
- Apply structured writing practices and follow internal documentation standards and version control processes
- Maintain up-to-date continuity documentation and resource inventories
- Produce metrics, reports, and dashboards to monitor program effectiveness and drive continuous improvement
- Ensure documentation supports compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, HITECH, and CMS requirements
- Ensure documents comply with regulatory, security, and quality standards (e.g., ISO, SOC2)
- Maintain a centralized repository and track revisions using tools like Confluence, SharePoint, Git, or similar
- Plan, coordinate, and document regular BCP tests, table-top exercises, and component tests to evaluate plan effectiveness
- Document outcomes and follow up on improvement actions
- Work closely with SMEs, IT staff, and senior leadership to gather information, review documentation, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., ISO 22301, HIPAA)
- Provide training and awareness activities to increase staff understanding of continuity roles and procedures
- Act as a key liaison during incidents, supporting communication, documentation, and situational awareness for leadership and stakeholders
- Maintain documentation repositories in tools like SharePoint or specialized BCM software (e.g., Fusion, Archer), ensuring all documents are current and approved
- Utilize platforms such as Office 365, ServiceNow, and/or Veoci to support plan management, communication, and response processes
- Conduct regular reviews and updates of existing SOPs to reflect changes in processes, systems, or tools
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Emergency Management, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in business continuity, disaster recovery, crisis management, or a related role
- Working knowledge of BC/DR methodologies and frameworks
- Proficiency with Office 365 (Teams, Outlook, SharePoint) for collaboration and emergency communications
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and at least one documentation tool (e.g., Confluence, Jirra, Wiki)
- Experience working with engineering teams in Agile or DevOps environments
- Analytical mindset with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to engage with all levels of staff and management professionally
- Understanding of ITIL processes, change management, and service delivery
- Exposure to compliance documentation (e.g., security policies, audit processes)
- Experience documenting cloud-based EHRs (e.g., Epic, Cerner, or AthenaHealth on AWS/Azure)
- Exposure to healthcare audit processes, security risk assessments, or documentation for clinical software
- Experience with ServiceNow Business Continuity Module or Veoci platform
- Relevant certification (e.g., CBCP, ) is a plus
- Experience in healthcare or hospital environments
