NAES Corporation is seeking a Project Engineer to support the development and execution of power generation projects by providing engineering coordination, technical oversight, and project execution support. This role will support design development, technical procurement, construction support, and commissioning activities while ensuring projects are executed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
Responsibilities:
- Support development and review of conceptual and schematic designs, including layouts, single-line diagrams, and P&IDs
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, and technical budget support from project development through commissioning
- Prepare technical specifications, review vendor submittals, and support equipment procurement activities
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, contractors, and clients to support project integration and issue resolution
- Provide engineering support during construction and commissioning, including troubleshooting and field support as needed
- Support power plant technical assessments and performance improvement initiatives for operating facilities
- Ensure compliance with project safety standards, quality requirements, and environmental regulations
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in power plant engineering and design supporting simple cycle and combined cycle facilities
- Experience supporting project execution across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases
- Familiarity with power plant systems including turbines, generators, HRSGs, balance-of-plant, and electrical distribution systems
- Ability to support travel requirements up to 25–50% based on project and client needs
- Knowledge of simple cycle and combined cycle power plant systems and engineering design principles
- Experience supporting project scheduling, budgeting, and technical execution
- Ability to interpret technical data, drawings, and specifications and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project; familiarity with project management and performance monitoring tools preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution or equivalent experience
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in power plant engineering and design in an EPC, OEM, AE, or similar environment
- Experience with coal, oil-fired thermal plants, or large combustion engines is a plus
- Professional Engineering (PE) registration preferred
