The Director of Solutions Engineering will lead a global team of solutions professionals, driving enterprise revenue growth and ensuring technical solutions align with customer needs and business objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a global team of 18 solutions professionals, including hiring, coaching, and performance management
- Drive revenue outcomes by ensuring the solutions engineering team effectively supports enterprise sales cycles
- Build and maintain a culture of accountability, performance excellence, and continuous improvement
- Collaborate with Sales (Account Executive Leaders) leadership to align solutions engineering priorities with revenue goals and pipeline growth
- Establish metrics and processes to measure team performance, customer outcomes, and business impact
- Partner with Product and Engineering to communicate customer needs and influence product roadmap
- Oversee complex enterprise engagements, providing strategic guidance and technical leadership when needed
- Develop team capabilities through training, mentorship, and career development planning
- Scale processes and systems to support team growth and operational efficiency
- Represent the solutions engineering function in cross-functional leadership discussions
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in solutions engineering, pre-sales, or technical consulting roles with progression into leadership
- 5+ years of people management experience, including managing managers and leading distributed teams
- Demonstrated success driving revenue outcomes and supporting enterprise sales cycles
- Track record of building and scaling high-performing technical teams
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to connect technical solutions to business value
- Experience working with enterprise-level customers and navigating complex organizational structures
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
- Proven ability to drive accountability and performance in a results-oriented environment
- Experience establishing metrics, processes, and systems to scale team operations
- Passion for developing talent and building team capabilities over time
- Demonstrates AI literacy, with the ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, decision-making, and quality of work while applying sound judgment and critical thinking
