Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Tech Lead Cloud Modernization & AI-Driven Architecture to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing and modernizing cloud-native applications, with a strong background in distributed systems, application architecture, and cloud platforms (preferably Google Cloud Platform). This role involves working closely with cross-functional engineering teams to modernize enterprise applications, define technical direction, and help shape next-generation AI-enabled architectures.

Key Responsibilities:

Architecture & Modernization Leadership

• Lead the modernization of enterprise applications from legacy architecture to cloud-native designs
• Define and drive technical roadmaps for application transformation
• Provide architectural guidance across UI, service, and data layers
• Decompose monolithic systems into scalable, service-based architectures
• Evaluate and guide decisions around data platform modernization (Oracle to modern cloud databases such as Postgres, Cloud SQL, or Spanner alternatives)

Cloud-Native Engineering

• Design and guide implementation of cloud-native systems in a Google Cloud Platform environment
• Support engineering teams in building highly scalable, distributed applications
• Ensure architectural decisions align with performance, scalability, and reliability goals
• Help establish best practices for modern software design and cloud adoption

AI & Next-Gen Architecture Enablement

• Support the evolution of systems toward AI-driven and agent-based architectures
• Contribute to early-stage design of agentic workflows and modern AI application patterns
• Help teams understand and adopt emerging architecture paradigms (e.g., MCP-style frameworks and orchestration models)

Technical Leadership & Collaboration

• Act as a technical advisor and architecture authority for engineering teams
• Partner with developers to guide design decisions, tradeoffs, and implementation strategies
• Collaborate with stakeholders across engineering teams to ensure alignment on technical direction
• Mentor engineers and help elevate overall engineering maturity and architectural consistency

Documentation & Best Practices

• Define and maintain architecture documentation, design standards, and modernization guidelines
• Promote engineering best practices for cloud-native development
• Establish reusable patterns for system design and modernization approaches

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

• Stay current with cloud, distributed systems, and AI architecture trends
• Evaluate and introduce modern engineering patterns and tools where applicable
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve system scalability, maintainability, and performance

Skills and Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with strong technical leadership experience
• Proven background as a Tech Lead or Senior Architect in cloud environments
• Strong experience designing cloud-native and distributed systems
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform or similar cloud platforms (AWS/Azure acceptable)
• Strong understanding of modern application architecture patterns
• Experience working across UI, backend services, and data layers
• Knowledge of database systems and modernization strategies (Oracle, Postgres, Cloud SQL, etc.)
• Exposure to or interest in AI-driven systems, agent-based architecture, or orchestration frameworks
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to lead technical decision-making
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
