WuXi Chemistry is seeking an Associate Director Project Management to manage projects within their pharmaceutical development and manufacturing division. This role involves leading projects from proposal to completion while interacting with clients and internal teams, as well as supporting business development activities.
Responsibilities:
- Help BD in preparing quotations/proposals with inputs from key stakeholders
- Participate in the planning and implementation of projects. Establish project objectives, timelines, and deliverables. Define project tasks and resource requirements
- Closely monitor/control project progression to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget. Report project progress to all key stakeholders
- Support technical team to investigate potential issues and implement corrective measures
- Serve as the liaison for client contacts and manage day-to-day communications
- Represent company in project meetings, prepare meeting agenda and minutes, and follow through on action items
- Evaluate and assess project results and provide recommendations for future improvements
- Provide support to business development team by attending customer visits, conferences, or tradeshows
Requirements:
- Masters (MS) or PhD in Chemistry or Pharmaceutical Sciences
- A minimum of 5 years pharmaceutical or CRO/CMO industry experience, preferably in process R&D, pharmaceutical development and manufacturing areas
- Prior experience in project management or managing external research collaborations
- Must be bilingual (fluent in English and Mandarin)
- Candidate should possess strong and effective project management, problem solving and interpersonal skills and have a proven track record working cross-functionally across a wide variety of technical, business, and operational areas
- Demonstrate good understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and small molecule drug development process
- Must be a self-starter, self-motivated, and highly flexible
- Must be organized and detail-oriented
- Proven experience in creating and carrying out successful plans and processes
- Proficiency in both English and Mandarin is required
- Excellent communications skills (verbal, written, and presentation skills)
- Ability to use all Microsoft Office products
- Experience in Contract Research Organization (CRO) or Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO) is preferred, but not required
