The Junior DevOps Engineer supports the development, deployment, and maintenance of cloud-based and on-premise systems, focusing on implementing automation and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines for application deployments
- Assist in automating infrastructure provisioning using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
- Monitor system performance, security, and availability, responding to alerts and resolving issues
- Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot build and deployment issues
- Maintain configuration management and version control best practices
- Document processes, procedures, and system configurations
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement efforts
- Ensure adherence to security and compliance requirements in deployment processes
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree with 2–4 years of relevant experience, or Master's with <2 years. Additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree
- Basic experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
- Experience with scripting languages such as Bash or Python
- Understanding of Linux/Unix systems administration fundamentals
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker)
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP, load balancing)
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn
- Must have US Citizenship
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a customer specific public trust clearance
- Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Familiarity with Kubernetes or container orchestration platforms
- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch)
- Knowledge of Agile or DevOps methodologies
