w3r Consulting is seeking a Medical Management Intake Specialist to join their team. The role involves providing support in healthcare management, focusing on customer service and understanding health insurance processes.
Responsibilities:
- Proven customer service experience with strong phone skills (inbound and outbound calls)
- Experience working with healthcare management systems and databases
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, providers, and stakeholders
- Experience providing high-quality, provider-focused support to healthcare facilities and physicians
- Ability to work collaboratively with nurses and peers in a team environment
- Experience documenting accurately and concisely in systems such as Care Advance
- Strong ability to engage with providers via inbound and outbound calls
- Experience processing provider requests, including prior authorizations and compliance inquiries
- Ability to act as a primary point of contact for providers regarding UM (Utilization Management) programs
- Experience managing administrative tasks such as assigning faxes, handling UM mailboxes, and voicemail follow-ups
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare, insurance, or a related field
- High school diploma required; some college or university coursework preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare concepts
- Solid understanding of health insurance processes, including claims management, benefits coordination, and prior authorization
