Artificial Intelligence Engineer

Oak Tree Software is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join their advanced AI Infrastructure team. The role involves building and enhancing tools for the Model Context Protocol (MCP) ecosystem, integrating AI assistants, and maintaining a scalable codebase.

Responsibilities:

• Build and enhance MCP tools for managed servers and open-source MCP Toolbox for Databases
• Integrate and improve tools used by agentic AI assistants (e.g., Gemini CLI, Claude Code)
• Refactor and maintain a high-quality, scalable codebase
• Expand test coverage for asynchronous AI tools and CLI-based systems
• Translate technical concepts into clear documentation & sample code
• Develop a real-world data application to support AI product R&D

Requirements:

• Strong experience with MCP (Model Context Protocol) and LLM integrations
• Solid background in SQL & databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, BigQuery, NoSQL, etc.)
• Hands-on experience with testing complex AI systems
• Understanding of agentic workflows (AI using tools, managing context, navigating systems)
• Proven ability in code refactoring & maintaining production-grade systems
• Experience in Context Engineering (LLM optimization)
• Contributions to open-source projects
• Knowledge of IAM / OpenTelemetry / observability tools
