Role Overview
We are seeking a technically strong Business Analyst Lead to support a high-impact credit decisioning initiative for credit card and consumer loan products within the Credit Karma marketing channel. Although positioned as a non-IT BA role, this position operates at the intersection of business, data, and rule-based decisioning systems. The role involves close collaboration with stakeholders, rule configuration teams, and data environments to support approval logic and eligibility criteria.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure and support credit decisioning rules within the Credit Karma partner bank interface
- Translate business credit policies into structured rules and validation logic
- Perform data validation and analysis using Python (pandas, NumPy, DataFrames)
- Validate approval, decline, referral, and eligibility decisioning logic
- Work with credit bureau data, credit reports, and score-based decision frameworks
- Partner with business, technical, and rule owners to ensure alignment and accuracy
- Document requirements, current/future state processes, and rule logic
- Support testing, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for decisioning workflows
Required Qualifications:
- Strong Python skills with a focus on data analysis and validation
- Experience with structured data manipulation (pandas, NumPy)
- Functional knowledge of U.S. banking, credit cards, or consumer lending
- Understanding of credit reports, credit scores, and bureau data flows
- Ability to interpret and implement business and decisioning rules
- Strong communication skills and stakeholder management experience
- Ability to work in a cross-functional, business-technical environment
- U.S.-based (required for production data access)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with credit platforms (e.g., Credit Karma, Experian, Equifax, TransUnion, FICO)
- Background in banking, fintech, or credit risk/decisioning environments
- Familiarity with approval/eligibility workflows in lending systems
- Experience with SQL and/or SAS
- Prior exposure to credit risk analytics or bureau reporting
