Microsoft is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented financial professional to join their dynamic team. The role focuses on driving improvements in budget management processes and enhancing how budgets are tracked, reported, and managed, leveraging modern automation and AI tools.
Responsibilities:
- Interview budget stakeholders to understand the end-to-end OPEX management process and document findings thoroughly
- Analyze financial information and existing processes for accuracy and opportunities for improvement
- Implement automation and/or AI agents to drive efficiencies and process enhancements
- Improve how actuals are tracked and reported across the team
- Assemble spreadsheets and create charts and graphs to illustrate financial reports
- Prepare for the FY27 budget process, including potentially creating purchase orders, reporting structures, and tracking mechanisms
- Develop clear and concise documentation of financial processes and identified improvements
Requirements:
- 5 to 7 years of financial and/or accounting experience required
- 2 to 3 years of experience in process documentation and analysis
- 6 months to 1 year of experience building or working with AI agents or automation tools
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related financial discipline required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with keen attention to detail and critical thinking ability
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage time and priorities
- Ability to analyze business trends and project future revenues and expenses
- Knowledge of economic and accounting principles, financial markets, and financial data reporting
- Knowledge of federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations as related to accounting
- Experience building or implementing AI agents or automation solutions within a financial or operational context
- Proficiency with financial software and computer applications relevant to budget management and reporting
- Advanced degree in a financial discipline preferred
