SQL Server Production Support Engineer

Conviso Inc is hiring an experienced SQL Server Production Support Consultant to support mission-critical database environments for a federal client. The role focuses on maintaining high availability, performance optimization, incident resolution, and operational stability of Microsoft SQL Server environments.

Responsibilities:

• Provide L1/L2 support for SQL Server production environments, ensuring system uptime and reliability
• Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues, deadlocks, blocking, and long-running queries
• Respond to incidents, service requests, and alerts within defined SLAs
• Monitor database health, capacity, and performance using standard tools
• Perform query tuning, indexing strategies, and execution plan analysis
• Manage backups, restores, and disaster recovery processes
• Execute routine database maintenance activities (patching, upgrades, integrity checks)
• Maintain documentation for configurations, processes, and SOPs

Requirements:

• Experience in SQL Server production support or database administration
• Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server (2016/2019/2022 or later)
• Hands-on experience with performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization
• Experience with backup/recovery models, HA/DR (Always On, clustering)
• Familiarity with monitoring tools and troubleshooting methodologies
• Experience supporting systems in a federal or regulated environment
• Active Secret Clearance is Must
