Parsons Corporation is seeking to hire a Systems Engineer for a U.S. Government contract in support of the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). The role involves providing end-to-end engineering support for international nuclear/radiological detection and border surveillance/security projects.
Responsibilities:
- Provide systems engineering support in multiple discipline areas including command & control, detection/surveillance, communications, networking, site security, power, and infrastructure construction for OCONUS projects
- Provide system engineering technical support of the project via scope/requirements development, requirements management, system design development, bill of materials development, integration, test/turnover
- Assist with development of the overall technical solutions, deliverables, and quality of assigned projects
- Support development of systems engineering documents for delivery to the client such as system engineering plans, system requirements traceability documents, preliminary/critical/final as-built system design solutions, equipment bill of materials, test plans, test reports, and US government client turnover reports
- Participate in OCONUS site surveys to validate project requirements and/or develop derived requirements to ensure the system designs meet client requirements and end user mission needs
- Assist with development of project assessments, market research reports, and analysis of alternatives to define optimal technical solutions for project equipment such as nuclear/radiological detection/ID systems, C2 software, VMS software, GSR/ASR radar, maritime radar/VTS, surveillance/security EO/IR cameras, PTP/PMP radio links, satellite links, IP networks, IT servers/workstations, UPS and renewable power systems
- Participate in OCONUS testing of installed systems to ensure the system designs meet client requirements and end user mission needs
- Assist the Senior Project Manager with proposals and equipment pricing/procurements
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical/scientific field
- 5+ years of related work experience in systems engineering
- Must be willing to travel 25% domestically and internationally
- Must be a U.S. citizen residing in the Continental US
- Experience working on nuclear/radiological detection projects or border surveillance/security projects is preferred
- Experience working on international programs is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate clearly, conduct presentations to the field team/clients/stakeholders and interface effectively with a diverse group of foreign officials and US government clients with tact and diplomacy
- Computer proficiency with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, including Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, and Visio
- Knowledge of AutoCAD drawings, MATLAB engineering, GIS site evaluation, and/or radio communication propagation planning/simulation software is preferred
- Knowledge and experience in command and control (C2), maritime domain awareness (MDA), and surveillance/security video management system (VMS) software packages is preferred
