Blue Cross NC is dedicated to improving health care for all. The Senior Product Line Manager will manage the product lifecycle, collaborate with teams to define product features, and ensure successful product launches through effective training and communication.
Responsibilities:
- Serves vital role in the product design process prior to project initiation; serves as a subject matter consultant for assistance in vetting product design concepts, communicating potential enterprise impacts in relation to the design and helps to continuously improve the design through to completion
- Works cross-functionally with impacted business areas to ensure that product launches effectively, including the appropriate training, sales support, communications, and product positioning
- Partners with the project team and stakeholders to support the definition and subsequent creation of the product and/or platform roadmap, definition of scope, participation in estimation efforts, and prioritization of functionality
- Coordinates identification and reporting of quality, compliance, and delivery progress, assists in finding answers to technical questions on the domain, and recommends corrective action as required to assist business stakeholders and the project team
- Develops requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to confirm alignment with product vision
- Communicates with team members and managers on upcoming needs for specific resources, delivery timing, and constraints based on user story prioritization and solution/impact analyst recommendations
- Assesses overall impact of change requests, updates the product vision, and makes roadmap / prioritization adjustments. Coordinates with the project team to ensure change control and change management procedures are followed as they relate to scope and requirements
- Post release, responsible for tracking and reporting on whether the envisioned business value is realized
- Assists with the identification of methodology challenges and recommends solutions for continuously evolving Agile at Blue Cross NC
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required)
- 5+ years of experience in related field
- In lieu of degree, 7+ years of experience in related field
- Prior experience working on Medicare Advantage product development, strongly preferred
- Familiarity with CMS lifecycle and Medicare, Med Sub, and employer group plans
- Previous work experience in health insurance or healthcare industry with multi-faceted knowledge of delivery systems as evidenced by at least 3 years of direct work experience as a Product Developer or Associate, Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, Business Solutions Architect, Project/Program Manager, and/or Product Owner is strongly preferred
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), presentation, and active listening skills
- Excellent PC skills (e.g., MS Office Suite, MS Project, Visio/draw.io)
- Ability to manage multiple projects effectively and prioritize activities to meet deliverable dates and/or changing priorities
- Strong negotiation, problem-solving, decision-making, and influencing skills to work with people across the enterprise, garnering input and buy-in
