The Assistant Director - Applied AI Engineer will identify high-impact business problems and design, build, and own applied AI solutions that improve workflows for users.
Responsibilities:
- Identify high-friction problems across the business and design software solutions that address them effectively
- Build end-to-end, full-stack applications powered by modern AI tooling
- Own technical design and direction for assigned projects and clearly communicate architectural decisions and tradeoffs
- Partner closely with users to understand workflows and translate insights into product and engineering decisions
- Deploy solutions to production environments and take responsibility for ongoing performance, reliability, and improvements
- Review, test, and approve code to ensure quality, consistency, and maintainability
- Mentor and support other engineers, contributing to the team’s technical growth
- Continuously improve team tools, practices, and engineering standards
Requirements:
- Strong generalist engineering experience with the ability to deliver reliable, scalable software across the full technology stack
- Demonstrated ability to own technical decisions, evaluate tradeoffs, and lead technical design when required
- Experience building and shipping full-stack applications using modern frameworks and tooling
- Practical experience applying modern AI and machine learning techniques in production environments
- Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into well-designed technical solutions
- Clear and effective communication skills, particularly when explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical partners
- Proven ability to mentor and support other engineers while contributing to team standards and best practices
- Deep expertise in artificial intelligence, with a track record of implementing advanced AI solutions—including agentic AI systems—to drive strategic transformation and operational efficiency
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
