The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, supporting, developing, and designing communication networks within the organization, ensuring high availability network infrastructure for maximum performance.
Responsibilities:
- Provides support to end users
- Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems
- Responds to telephone calls, e-mails, or personnel requests for technical support
- Documents, tracks, and monitors the problem to ensure a timely resolution
- Installs, configures, and maintains internal and/or external network services, equipment, and devices
- Maintains all systems, applications, security, and network configurations
- Troubleshoots network performance issues
- Assists in creating and maintaining a disaster recovery plan
- Recommends upgrades, patches, and new applications and equipment
- Undertakes routine preventative measures and implements, maintains, and monitors network security
- Recognizes patients’ rights and responsibilities and supports them in the performance of job duties; respects patient’s rights to privacy and confidentiality
- Completes assigned paperwork/documents as directed in a timely manner
- Shares knowledge gained with other staff members and works as a team member
- Interacts with others in a positive, respectful, and considerate manner
- Sees projects from start to completion and understands the impact on the entire environment
- Performs other job related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with two or more years of experience in the field or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- Cisco Firewall and Router Experience required
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with employees, referral sources, physicians, and consumers
- Knowledgeable of current clinical issues, industry practice standards, and accreditation standards and incorporate them into daily practice
- Demonstrate extreme attention to detail and accuracy
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Experience with the following applications/systems/concepts preferred: Exchange, Active Directory, Terminal Servers, Remote Desktop, Backup and Recovery, VPN/MPLS, Virtualization (Hyper-v / VMware), Network Support and Maintenance, Phone Systems, Security
