Granicus is a technology company transforming the Govtech industry by connecting governments with their constituents. They are seeking a Senior Product Designer to lead the design process, utilizing design thinking techniques to create engaging user experiences and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement designs successfully.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design process from concept to completion, ensuring a user-centered approach
- Utilize design thinking techniques to solve complex problems and create intuitive, engaging user experiences
- Conduct user-experience research, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to gather insights and inform design decisions
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that effectively communicate design ideas and solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, across India, Australia, UK, and United States, including product managers, developers, and other stakeholders, to ensure alignment and successful implementation of designs
- Mentor and guide junior designers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
- Manage your workload and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines and deliver high-quality work
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to ensure our products remain competitive and innovative
- You use AI to improve all aspects of your work; AI-augmented research, AI-supported brainstorming, AI-enabled design-to-dev collaboration, Design quality and accessibility validation
Requirements:
- Post-Secondary education in HCI, Design, or related field, or equivalent relevant industry experience
- 5+ years of experience in UX design for complex SaaS software products
- Time spent working with US based product teams would be valuable experience for this role
- A strong portfolio showcasing your work on B2B products, and bonus recognition for G2C
- Experience conducting generative & evaluative user-experience research and usability testing
- Strong understanding of design thinking principles and methodologies
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and rationale both verbally and in writing
- Proven ability to manage your work and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent Figma skills and a willingness to adhere to existing design systems
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to support multi-faceted decision-making
- Proficiency in design, research and workshopping tools including Figma and Miro
- Confidence to respectfully advocate for our user and support your points with data, even when easier solutions exist
- Willingness to consider others' perspectives and provide alternative or iterative approaches towards a common goal
- Curiosity and genuine interest in human beings
- Understanding of other UX considerations, including Information Architecture, Interaction Design, and Visual Design
- Experience working in an Agile software development environment
- Experience working remotely and asynchronously with colleagues in other time zones
- Comfortable using the software of our engineering colleagues; Confluence and Jira
- Familiarity with WCAG accessibility standards and best practices
- A UI/UX qualification at a tertiary design or engineering college
- Knowledge of front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus
- Thorough understanding of how to design for WCAG 2.2
- Familiarity with UI component sets, such as Vuetify, Material-UI, and/or Bootstrap
