Job Title: OMP Unison Functional Consultant (Focus: Detailed Scheduling)
Location: Remote US or Canada
Duration: Long Term
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly analytical OMP Unison Functional Consultant, with a specialized focus on the Detailed Scheduling and Operational Planning modules. In this role, you will bridge the gap between our supply chain business objectives, manufacturing constraints, and technical solutions. You will be responsible for designing, configuring, and optimizing the OMP Unison platform to ensure efficient shop-floor execution, optimized machine sequencing, and maximized resource capacity.
Key Responsibilities
Requirement Gathering & Solution Design:
- Collaborate with plant managers, production planners, and business stakeholders to map out "as-is" manufacturing processes and define future "to-be" scheduling workflows.
- Translate complex factory-floor realities (e.g., machine constraints, labor availability, material constraints) into scalable functional designs within OMP Unison.
Detailed Scheduling Configuration & Optimization:
- Configure the OMP Unison Scheduling module to manage finite and infinite capacity planning, sequence-dependent changeovers, and campaign optimization.
- Model complex production master data, including multi-stage routings, alternative resources, co-products/by-products, and dynamic Bill of Materials (BOM) constraints.
- Develop and fine-tune scheduling heuristics, solvers, and custom rules to minimize downtime, reduce changeover costs, and improve on-time delivery.
System Integration & Alignment:
- Work closely with technical teams to guide system integrations between OMP Unison and ERP systems (e.g., SAP/Oracle) as well as Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
- Ensure alignment between the tactical Supply/S&OP plans and the operational execution schedule.
Testing & Quality Assurance:
- Develop comprehensive test scripts focusing on production scenarios and edge cases; lead System Integration Testing (SIT).
- Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with production planners, ensuring the schedule output is realistic, executable, and meets plant performance metrics.
- Training & Go-Live Support:
- Create detailed training materials and standard operating procedures (SOPs) tailored to plant schedulers and operational users.
- Provide hyper-care support during go-live, actively troubleshooting scheduling anomalies on the shop floor and stabilizing the system.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience:
- 5+ years of functional experience in Supply Chain Planning and Manufacturing.
- At least 1 2 full-lifecycle implementations of OMP Unison acting in a functional consultant role.
- Proven, hands-on expertise with the OMP Detailed Scheduling module.
- Deep understanding of manufacturing concepts, including finite capacity scheduling, bottleneck management, production sequencing, and inventory buffering.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of OMP Unison architecture, scheduling solvers, and data modeling.
- Familiarity with MES integrations and ERP production planning modules (e.g., SAP PP/DS, SAP S/4HANA Manufacturing, or Oracle ASCP).
- Proficient in analyzing complex manufacturing datasets and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) metrics.
Soft Skills:
- Exceptional problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to balance competing manufacturing priorities (e.g., efficiency vs. customer service).
- Strong communication skills, capable of bridging the gap between corporate IT and shop-floor personnel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working in complex manufacturing environments (Pharmaceuticals exp preferred)
