Automation Controls Engineer

ABB is looking for an experienced Automation Controls Engineer to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain advanced automation solutions for a wide range of industries, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability and efficiency of industrial processes.

Responsibilities:

• Design, program, and troubleshoot automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems
• Develop and configure control logic, leveraging PLC Ladder Logic, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), and Variable Frequency Drives (VFD)
• Integrate and optimize third-party components and systems to ensure seamless automation processes
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve system reliability and performance
• Provide on-site support during installation, testing, and commissioning of automation systems
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure solutions meet requirements and timelines
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends and advancements to continuously improve ABB's automation solutions

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field
• Proven experience in automation controls engineering, with a strong understanding of PLC programming, HMI/SCADA systems, and VFDs
• Hands-on expertise in process control and system integration
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Ethernet/IP, Profibus)
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
