The AVP, Salesforce Development Manager is responsible for the evolution, reliability, and delivery of the Salesforce platform, driving scalable architecture and ensuring high-quality solutions across multiple teams.
Responsibilities:
- Co-own the Salesforce roadmap and quarterly OKRs with the VP, CRM Strategy & Solutions; translate strategy into delivery plans and manage cross-team dependencies
- Lead execution across multiple initiatives and departments, ensuring predictable sprint delivery, scope control, and on-time outcomes for complex programs
- Measure and improve platform health and delivery performance by defining/monitoring KPIs, identifying bottlenecks, reducing cycle time, and increasing release confidence
- Proactively manage delivery and technical risk, escalating early and negotiating trade-offs while protecting quality, security, and long-term platform sustainability
- Oversee architecture and solution design across declarative and programmatic development to ensure scalable, performant, maintainable solutions
- Drive engineering excellence and continuous improvement through standards, reusable patterns, reference architectures, code quality practices, and resiliency upgrades
- Own CI/CD and release management maturity across multiple orgs, including branching strategy, automated validations/tests, approvals, and rollback planning
- Establish and enforce platform governance and security controls (access policies, role hierarchy, sharing model, permission sets, data quality, and environment strategy)
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex platform and integration issues and evaluate/adopt technologies and practices that improve speed, quality, and security
- Lead cross-functional planning and communication, removing blockers and clarifying ownership across teams; ensure PRDs/TDDs receive timely, actionable feedback through design reviews, Tech Talks, and postmortems
- Partner with product owners and stakeholders to refine requirements, manage scope, and deliver value across concurrent initiatives
- Lead, mentor, and develop Salesforce engineering teams (developers/admins) across Sales and Service Cloud orgs; set expectations, coach performance, enforce accountability, and build inclusive teams with strong hiring and succession plans

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- 10+ years of progressive software engineering experience, including significant hands-on Salesforce development
- 5+ years leading Salesforce/CRM engineering teams (people leadership and/or leading multiple teams)
- Demonstrated experience operating Salesforce at scale, ideally including multi-org support, mature release/change management, and enterprise integrations (especially MuleSoft)

- Strong knowledge of object-oriented design, Salesforce architecture, and engineering best practices across Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Salesforce Privacy Center and ecosystem platforms including Box, Conga, and Odeseva
- Expertise in Apex (trigger frameworks, governor limits, bulkification) and Salesforce application architecture
- Strong Lightning experience (Lightning Web Components) and modern UI patterns
- Experience with integrations (REST/SOAP APIs), middleware patterns, and event-driven designs - leveraging tools such as MuleSoft
- Strong understanding of platform security and access governance (role hierarchy, sharing model, permission sets)
- Strong data management and modeling understanding (e.g., SQL, XML, JSON); experience with PostgreSQL
- Proven ability to deliver complex, cross-team initiatives with strong planning, dependency management, and execution discipline; experienced in Agile methodology including delivery tools such as Jira
- Ownership mindset and strong stakeholder partnership skills; demonstrates courtesy, respect, and thoughtfulness in collaboration across teams using tools like Slack and Zoom
- Deep familiarity with DevOps and delivery excellence, including source control and pipeline practices using GitLab, code quality and static analysis with SonarQube, and modern CI/CD and release management practices
- Backend application development experience using C# and the Microsoft .NET framework
