Nscale is a GPU cloud company focused on AI, providing infrastructure for AI start-ups and enterprises. The Senior Project Manager, Architecture will lead architectural scope and delivery for U.S. data center projects, ensuring optimized environments for high-density AI infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Manage architectural scope across concept, schematic, and detailed design phases for new builds and expansion projects
- Own architectural deliverables, issue resolution, design clarifications, RFIs, and change management throughout the project lifecycle
- Coordinate programme requirements, space planning, room adjacencies, and building design priorities with internal Design, Construction, Commissioning, and Operations teams
- Lead coordination with external architecture and engineering partners and ensure alignment across CSA, MEP, structural, civil, security, network/IT, and commissioning workstreams
- Run design meetings, track actions, and drive timely closure of open decisions, interfaces, and delivery risks
- Review drawings and specifications for completeness, constructability, maintainability, code compliance, and operational suitability
- Support procurement and construction execution through submittal reviews, field issue support, and architectural scope clarifications
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of Nscale's architectural basis of design standards to support consistent, high-quality delivery
- Support architectural due diligence for greenfield, brownfield, and colocation opportunities by assessing constraints, risks, fit, and building suitability
- Maintain structured architecture and CSA risk tracking and support mitigation planning through design and execution
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- 3+ years of experience managing design and delivery for mission-critical facilities, with meaningful data center architecture or CSA scope exposure
- Proven experience coordinating external A/E firms and driving drawing and specification packages from concept through construction documents
- Strong working knowledge of data center architectural priorities including space planning, maintainability, access, constructability, and life safety coordination
- Experience working with U.S. authorities having jurisdiction and navigating state and local code requirements
- Strong project management capability across schedule control, risk tracking, scope management, and stakeholder communication
- Sound judgement, strong presence, and the ability to make decisions in high-consequence environments
- A pragmatic, partnership-oriented leadership style suited to fast-paced delivery settings
- Experience supporting colocation leasing due diligence, fit-out boundaries, and landlord or operator coordination
- Familiarity with BIM and clash coordination workflows across multi-discipline teams
- Experience supporting site screening, massing reviews, setback analysis, access planning, and expansion feasibility
- Exposure to construction-stage field support, submittal review, and design issue resolution on live data center projects
