The Commodity Supplier Assurance Engineer serves as the primary quality interface between Raytheon and the external supply base, focusing on supplier assessments, performance management, and continuous improvement activities.
Responsibilities:
- Interpreting purchase order quality notes and quality requirements to ensure subcontractor/supplier understanding
- Ensuring flow down of Product requirements both internally and to sub-tier suppliers and ensuring compliance with quality requirements
- Assessing subcontractor/supplier quality capabilities throughout the program life cycle to achieve full program objectives
- Identifying supplier risk and systemic performance issues ensuring root-cause analysis and corrective solutions are identified and implemented with closure plans
- Driving continuous product / process improvements using statistical / analytical improvement tools such as Six Sigma and lean methodologies
- Working with other Quality functions and Cross Business Teams (CBTs), to affect rapid closure of issues utilizing analytical capabilities and communications skills
- Ensuring Subcontract Data Requirements List deliverables are met
- Supports the First Article Verification and Source Inspection
- Travel: 40%
Requirements:
- A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years' experience
- Relevant experience is work in an engineering discipline, Quality or Supplier Engineering
- Manufacturing industry experience
- Aerospace or commercial equivalent Preventative tools – APQP, PPAP, SPC, FMEA, etc
- Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) or other continuous improvement processes
- Commercial or aerospace / defense Quality Management System regulations and standards- AS9100, AS9102, ISO-9000, AS9145
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Active and existing security clearance required after day 1
- Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) Preferred
- Knowledge in hardware inspection techniques
- Six Sigma, Lean and / or American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certification (CQE, CQM/OE, CSQE, CQA, CRE, etc.)
- Proven successes in building and maintaining relationships with multiple suppliers / customers
- Experience in DoD product and process oversight including requirements, build, integration, test and delivery
- Experience working remotely
- General Statistical Process Control knowledge, including implementation
- General knowledge of aerospace / defense products and systems technologies
- General knowledge of industry technical standards (such as ANSI, CMMI, ASTM, etc.)
- Strong technical engineer with excellent communication skills that exhibits presence and influence and self-managed technical contributor
