Senior Lead Scientist (Remote Sensing)

Awetomaton is a Dayton-based defense startup seeking a Senior Lead Scientist to support customers at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. The role involves leading a team to develop R&D algorithms for Geospatial Intelligence and applying expertise in imagery science to write software in Python.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of 3-5 developing R&D algorithms to derive insights from Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT)
• Apply expertise in imagery science to write software in Python using modern libraries and Software Engineering methodologies
• Communicate effectively in both written and verbal form with peers & decision makers
• Experience leading teams in a dynamic R&D environment
• Expertise in GEOINT image processing and data exploitation using Python
• Familiarity with algorithm deployment concepts including containerization, cloud and platform environments
