Engineering Manager - Notebook Dataplane

Databricks is a data and AI company passionate about enabling data teams to solve complex problems. As an Engineering Manager for the Notebook Dataplane team, you will lead the development of a stateful user code execution service, ensuring high-quality deliverables and driving the technical vision and architecture.

Responsibilities:

• Define and drive the stateful user code execution service vision
• Partner with serverless platform teams to build the service
• Own the roadmap and execution, ensuring all team deliverables are met with high quality and on schedule
• Define team best practices for engineering excellence, including design reviews, code quality, testing strategies, and performance optimizations
• Collaborate cross-functionally with teams across the stack

Requirements:

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with a strong track record of technical leadership and impact
• 3+ years of engineering management experience
• Experience designing, building, and operating scalable SaaS platforms
• Expertise in distributed systems, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and modern web application architectures
• Strong system-level skills
• Experience with containers and K8S is highly desirable
• Strong ability to collaborate across product, engineering, and business teams to align technical strategy with company growth objectives
• Passion for the data intelligence space
