Lead the elicitation, analysis, and documentation of data‑related business requirements for enterprise data initiatives
Translate business needs into clear, data‑specific requirements, including data elements, metrics, hierarchies, transformations, and access patterns
Own and maintain the enterprise data dictionary and business glossary, ensuring consistency and alignment across teams
Partner closely with Data Architects and Data Engineering to ensure requirements are accurately reflected in data models, integrations, and pipelines
Document end‑to‑end data flows and lineage, from source systems to downstream consumers
Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and data delivery teams, resolving definition conflicts and clarifying requirements
Support backlog refinement and prioritization, ensuring requirements are complete and actionable prior to development
Identify and help remediate data quality, consistency, and access issues
Reinforce data governance standards, documentation practices, and approved access methods
Participate in design reviews, planning sessions, and cross‑functional working groups
Support regulated fintech and financial services use cases, including auditability, security, and sensitive data handling
Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.
Requirements
Minimum 10 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Data Analyst, Data Product Owner, or similar data‑focused role
Proven experience translating business needs into enterprise‑scale data requirements
Strong experience with enterprise data platforms, including: Oracle (transactional data understanding)
Cloud data warehouses (Azure preferred)
ETL / integration tools (Informatica or similar)
Analytics and reporting consumers
Demonstrated ownership of a data dictionary and/or business glossary
Strong understanding of source‑of‑truth principles, data consistency, and governance
Experience partnering with data architects and engineering teams in complex environments
Financial services or fintech experience, including regulated data requirements
Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
