.Net/EDI Engineer (Healthcare) is a remote role at Dice, focusing on the design, development, and maintenance of healthcare applications using .NET and C#. The position requires building and supporting EDI integrations for healthcare transactions while ensuring HIPAA compliance and security best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain healthcare applications using .NET and C#
- Build and support EDI integrations for healthcare transactions including 837, 835, 834, 270/271, and 276/277
- Develop secure and scalable backend services handling PHI-sensitive data
- Ensure HIPAA compliance, data privacy, and security best practices across applications
- Work with clearinghouses, payers, providers, and third-party healthcare systems
- Create and maintain custom EDI parsers, validation rules, and transformation logic
- Integrate EDI workflows using tools like EdiFabric, BizTalk, or custom frameworks
- Troubleshoot EDI transaction failures, mapping issues, and production incidents
- Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and healthcare stakeholders
- Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability
- Participate in code reviews, documentation, and technical design discussions
Requirements:
- Strong experience in .NET Framework / .NET Core and C#
- Deep understanding of HIPAA compliance and PHI data security
- Hands-on experience with Healthcare EDI X12 transaction sets: 837 Claims, 835 Remittance, 834 Enrollment, 270/271 Eligibility, 276/277 Claim Status
- Strong SQL Server and backend integration experience
- Experience building APIs, microservices, and backend processing systems
- Knowledge of healthcare workflows and payer/provider integrations
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with EdiFabric, BizTalk Server, or custom EDI parsers
- Experience with Azure or AWS cloud environments
- Knowledge of HL7/FHIR integrations is a plus
- Experience with automation, scripting, or DevOps pipelines
- Strong communication and documentation skills
