Senior Product Designer

Overstory is a company tackling the climate crisis through innovative technology for a resilient electrical grid. They are seeking a Senior Product Designer to lead the design of their customer-facing product, focusing on user research, prototyping, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end product design process of our customer-facing product including user research, wireframes, prototypes, flows, detailed design specs and QA
• Understand engineering and business constraints to create shippable solutions to users’ problems, and continuously validate the solutions with customers
• Lay out a design vision for what's possible by quickly iterating, knowing when to pay attention to detail and when to make low-fi sketches and prototypes
• Communicate and present your work clearly and frequently to teammates and company leaders
• Take full ownership of your work. That also means getting involved on how to communicate it to customers when releases happen
• Think both short- and long-term so that you can meet near-term deadlines while iterating toward a future vision
• Facilitate alignment and vision exercises (e.g. design sprints, workshops, planning)
• Occasionally meet in-person with our customers to run workshops, attend field visits and learn about how our customers are leveraging Overstory in their day-to-day operations
• Occasionally attend industry events to keep an eye on competition, and learn about how our prospects and customers are thinking about leveraging disrupting technology
