Fortitude Reinsurance Company Ltd. is a leading provider of legacy reinsurance solutions, partnering with top insurance companies to execute transformative solutions. The Assistant Vice President, Data Solutions Engineering will build operational data pipelines and collaborate with business partners to create data engineering solutions that meet their needs.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver well-architected data solutions in partnership with data platform engineers, data governance, data science, and data analytics/visualization peers
- Partner with business teams to design data solutions with the ability to mentor early career data engineers
- Lead build-out and deployment of data pipelines
- Ensure reliability, scalability and governance of data pipelines
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Math, Computer Science or Engineering
- Strong understanding of ETL/ELT, APIs, Cloud, data operations
- Minimum experience of seven years in a growing data engineering role, with at least five years in programming (Python) and SQL
- Robust knowledge of data lakes, data governance and modern data quality techniques
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and conceptual skills
- Strong verbal and written skills
- Domain knowledge of Actuarial, Investment and Finance within Insurance/Reinsurance industry is a plus
