GEOR Global Recruitment (Shenzhen) Ltd. is seeking a Field Service Engineer responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and customer support of UPS systems in data centers. The role serves as the primary technical interface with customers, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of critical power infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Perform installation supervision, startup, commissioning, testing, and acceptance of UPS systems and related critical power equipment
- Conduct preventive maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and corrective repairs on UPS systems, battery systems, static switches, PDUs, and associated equipment
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, control, and communication issues in mission-critical power environments
- Execute firmware upgrades, system modifications, and equipment retrofits as required
- Provide on-site technical support and emergency response services for data center customers
- Serve as the primary technical contact during commissioning, maintenance activities, and service events
- Communicate findings, recommendations, and corrective actions clearly to customers and internal teams
- Deliver technical training and operational guidance to customer personnel when required
- Complete service reports, commissioning records, maintenance documentation, and site assessments
- Maintain accurate records of field activities, equipment performance, and customer interactions
- Support root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for recurring issues
- Follow all company, customer, and industry safety procedures while working in data centers and electrical environments
- Ensure all work complies with applicable electrical codes, industry standards, and site requirements
- Participate in safety training and maintain a strong safety-first culture
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, Power Systems, Electronics, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of field service experience supporting UPS, critical power, power distribution, switchgear, battery systems, or related electrical equipment
- Strong understanding of UPS operation, power quality, backup power systems, batteries, and critical power infrastructure
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent customer-facing communication skills
- Ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory and support emergency service calls when required
- Valid driver's license and ability to work at customer sites across the United States
- Experience working in data centers, mission-critical facilities, industrial power systems, or similar environments is highly preferred
