They are seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to support data-driven decision-making by delivering actionable insights, performance metrics, and reporting solutions that enhance organizational effectiveness.
Responsibilities:
- Translates high-level business challenges into questions that can then be answered by data-driven analyses
- Gathers information from data sources including, but not limited to, systems related to scientific engagement, territory management, expense management, human resources, the USMA Data Lake, and QlikSense to create integrated views/reports that can be used to drive decision-making
- Analyzes data sets, delivers insights, and makes recommendations to improve business performance
- Partners with leadership to develop metrics/reports providing transparency into business performance and surfaces opportunities for improvement
- Works collaboratively with Business Intelligence (BI) colleagues to facilitate more efficient and effective ways to collect, maintain and report information
- Drives standardization, quality and automation of data and metrics used in USMA reporting and analysis
- Interfaces with external agencies to help ensure streamlined processes for obtaining data and reporting
- Engages within key stakeholders and collaborators within V&I, including V&I Global Medical and Value Capabilities (V&I GMVC) and the Therapeutic Area (TA) teams, as well as Legal, Compliance and other functional leaders to recommend solutions and/or process improvements to enhance the company’s reputation with external scientific leaders
- Continually evaluates BI-related metrics, metrics collection, communication approaches as well as the external landscape for data-analysis best practices
- Completes operational duties as identified and assigned to support strategic and operational goals of the V&I BI organization
- Adheres to the compliance and regulatory procedures, working closely with Global Compliance and Legal
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in life sciences, business, or health care, plus five or more years of relevant pharmaceutical and/or Medical Affairs experience (e.g., Business Intelligence, Medical Communication or Medical Information, Medical Operations)
- Proven analytical and quantitative skills and ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, develop business cases, and complete root-cause analyses
- Proficiency in common data-analytics tools, particularly data collection and visualization techniques
- Strong critical thinking, learning agility, and decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to innovate with practical solutions for complex issues
- Excellent leadership and project-management skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders across technology platforms and business areas
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), stakeholder-management, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to interface and influence across various organizational levels, including facilitation, consulting, negotiation, and presentation
- Ability to work independently while escalating risks and issues as appropriate
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and work effectively in a constantly changing environment
- Strong personal integrity and high ethical standards
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access)
- Experience with vendor/contractor management
