SimSpace is an organization that serves as an AI Proving Ground for cybersecurity training and testing. The Principal Product Manager will lead the development of the platform, enabling organizations to train defenders and validate AI systems in realistic cyber environments.
Responsibilities:
- Define and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for platform capabilities that support AI Proving Grounds, agent validation, cyber tool efficacy, security automation, and realistic cyber training and testing
- Identify customer, market, and technology trends at the intersection of AI, cybersecurity, autonomous agents, cyber ranges, simulation, security operations, and controls validation
- Prioritize features and initiatives based on customer value, strategic differentiation, business impact, technical feasibility, platform leverage, and long-term product direction
- Translate ambiguous market needs into clear product opportunities, investment rationale, roadmap sequencing, and measurable success criteria
- Build alignment across product, engineering, leadership, sales, marketing, customer success, support, and cyberscurity subject matter experts
- Partner closely with engineering and design teams to develop and deliver high-quality core and cross-application platform capabilities
- Create and manage initiative- and epic-level requirements, acceptance criteria, and supporting documentation that enable engineering teams to deliver against defined outcomes
- Define functional and non-functional requirements for platform capabilities, including performance, reliability, scalability, security, observability, data quality, extensibility, integration, and operational requirements
- Shape platform capabilities that may include environment orchestration, scenario execution, AI and agent interfaces, evaluation workflows, telemetry, ground truth, reporting, APIs, infrastructure automation, and customer-facing controls
- Serve as a credible product partner to senior engineering leaders on architectural tradeoffs, system constraints, technical dependencies, implementation approaches, and delivery risks
- Manage the product lifecycle from concept through launch and ongoing adoption, ensuring timely delivery and measurable customer impact
- Partner with cybersecurity subject matter experts to ensure platform capabilities reflect realistic attacks, threat actor behavior, adversary emulation, defender workflows, operational constraints, and controls validation needs
- Establish product capabilities that help customers connect AI and agent validation to readiness, resilience, risk reduction, and mission outcomes
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to align on product goals, roadmap priorities, technical tradeoffs, and launch plans
- Communicate product strategy, progress, risks, decisions, and outcomes to senior leadership and other key stakeholders
- Represent platform strategy in customer conversations, executive discussions, roadmap reviews, and cross-functional planning
- Resolve prioritization conflicts across customer needs, engineering constraints, business requirements, and long-term platform health
- Gather and analyze customer feedback, market signals, and competitive insights to inform product decisions
- Work with customer success, sales, solutions, support, and cyber subject matter experts to understand customer needs, pain points, workflows, and emerging buying patterns
- Develop a deep understanding of how customers train defenders, validate controls, assess cyber readiness, evaluate security investments, and explore AI or agentic use cases
- Ensure the product delivers a compelling user experience and meets the needs of technical users, security leaders, operators, and executive buyers
- Define and monitor key product metrics to measure success and drive continuous improvement
- Establish measures for platform adoption, workflow completion, evaluation quality, reliability, performance, customer value, and business impact
- Connect platform investments to outcomes that customers and the business can understand and measure
- Mentor and guide product managers and cross-functional team members
- Raise the quality of product thinking, requirements definition, technical discovery, roadmap communication, and outcome measurement across the team
Requirements:
- Minimum of 8 years of product management experience with a proven track record of delivering successful technical products, or equivalent experience in cybersecurity, AI infrastructure, platform engineering, simulation, security operations, or enterprise technology
- Demonstrated experience owning cyber products, platform products, infrastructure products, developer platforms, enterprise technical products, AI/ML platforms, cloud platforms, or other complex systems-oriented products
- Strong technical fluency and the ability to work directly with senior engineering leaders on architecture, platform design, APIs, data flows, integrations, scalability, reliability, security, and implementation tradeoffs
- Experience defining clear functional and non-functional requirements that enable engineering teams to understand the intended outcome, constraints, customer value, and success criteria
- Strategic product judgment, including the ability to connect technical platform investments to customer value, market differentiation, business outcomes, and long-term product direction
- Working knowledge of cybersecurity concepts related to attacks, adversary behavior, threat actors, threat emulation, detection, response, controls validation, and security operations
- Strong understanding of enterprise customer needs, technical buying dynamics, stakeholder management, and product discovery in complex B2B environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex platform, AI, and cybersecurity concepts into clear product strategy and customer value
- Experience with AI/ML infrastructure, autonomous agents, LLM applications, model evaluation, agent evaluation, GPU/CPU performance considerations, data pipelines, or AI development workflows
- Experience with platform technologies such as cloud infrastructure, hybrid cloud, Kubernetes, containers, virtualization, hypervisors, APIs, distributed systems, developer experience, observability, or infrastructure automation
- Experience with cyber ranges, simulation environments, training platforms, security operations, threat emulation, adversary emulation, red team or blue team workflows, incident response, or controls validation
- Familiarity with security tools or concepts such as SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, threat intelligence, MITRE ATT&CK, Cobalt Strike, Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nmap, Wireshark, or Splunk
- Experience building or scaling products that serve both technical operators and executive decision-makers
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, OSCP, CEH, GCIH, PMP, PMC, or equivalent experience are helpful but not required
