Datavant is the data collaboration platform trusted for healthcare, aiming to make the world’s health data secure and actionable. The Senior Product Manager for the Data Platform will lead initiatives to integrate AI into products, drive adoption, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Data Science, Engineering, and Product teams across the organization to integrate AI/ML capabilities, drive adoption, and ensure value realization
- Obsess about identifying and solving high-value problems for internal stakeholders (Engineering, Product, Business Units). Collaborate closely with Engineering teams to define, develop, and ship impactful abstractions, features, and platforms that drive measurable business outcomes
- Work closely with customers, Data Scientists, and Engineers to translate complex business needs and data science possibilities into clear, concise, and motivating requirements. Foster a deep understanding of the underlying data, models, systems, and user workflows to guide the iterative development of robust and scalable solutions
- Lead by example, fostering a collaborative environment between Product, Data Science, and Engineering
- Take ownership of the success of data science products and platforms, from ideation through development, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance. Embrace a 'no job is too small' attitude to ensure the success of your products, the Data Science team, and Datavant
Requirements:
- You have 5+ years in a product management, product strategy, or engineering with a focus on data engineering, data infrastructure, or business intelligence products; ideally working in a healthcare (or a similar industry) where security / compliance play a major role in how things get designed
- You are technical. When needed, you aren't afraid to dive into the code to better understand what is going on. While you may not be doing commits to help develop the data lake SDK, we might find you leading a whiteboard session on an ER diagram, searching through code on Github, or spinning up Docker to get a feel for the current DevEx
- You know data at scale. You've been a part of teams that have managed data infrastructure at scale and have seen where stress fractures form. Data modeling, data contracts, compute cost, fine grained access - you've navigated the confluence of technical & organizational problems
- You work hard. You are at your best working at full speed, and you love what you do
- You are highly organized and have strong project management skills: others are confident in a project's outcome when they know you're owning it
- You have high bandwidth and high productivity: others wonder where you find time to do all you do. Your secret is that you are quick to understand, formulate and respond
- You write exceptional documents, presentations, diagrams, and mockups. Your documentation leads to discussions about the content, not about what is intended
- You are a great communicator and have the confidence to lead planning meetings with anyone or any group within the company. You have the ability to explain strategies, rationales and products in terms that each audience can understand
- You are motivated by getting stuff done. You are wired to both set the big vision and to make continual steps towards that vision. Neither vision setting nor execution is satisfactory by itself to you - you want both
- You are a team player. You always put yourself in other's positions and understand their motivations, needs, perspectives and potential points of confusion
- You are proactive. You define how the product should evolve and bias to action
