Michael Dunn Center is Building a new facility within the community. They are seeking an Assistant Project Manager/Estimator to support project planning, cost estimation, and contract management while collaborating closely with field teams and clients.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing accurate construction estimates by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and project scope using tools like Bluebeam and HeavyBid software
- Support the development of detailed project schedules, budgets, and cost control measures to ensure financial targets are met
- Collaborate with project managers and field teams to coordinate construction site activities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards
- Participate in negotiations with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to secure favorable terms and pricing for materials and services
- Review contracts, change orders, and project documentation to maintain compliance and manage project scope effectively
- Monitor project progress regularly, identify potential issues early, and assist in implementing corrective actions to keep projects on track
- Contribute to bid proposals by gathering cost data, preparing estimates, and supporting the overall bidding process
Requirements:
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD for detailed civil design work and creation of accurate 3D CAD models
- Experience in civil engineering or civil construction environments with a focus on estimation and project delivery
- Proficiency in civil estimating, including material takeoffs and project cost estimating
- Experience with project management responsibilities in a civil construction setting
- Familiarity with estimating software to support project planning and cost estimation
- Experience with GPS equipment and advanced GPS machine control systems used in civil sitework
- Ability to support and train field teams in the use of GPS machine control technology
- Experience working with civil construction technology such as Trimble Business Center or similar platforms
- Knowledge of construction safety protocols and ability to support on-site compliance
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders
- Proven experience in leading projects or major tasks to successful completion
- Experience with GIS software for spatial data analysis and integration with design and estimating workflows
- Background in civil engineering, construction management, or a related technical discipline
- Experience with civil sitework projects, including grading, utilities, and earthwork
- Comfort working in both office and field environments, transitioning between estimating and on-site support
- Interest in civil construction technology and innovation, particularly in GPS machine control and modeling
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and contribute creative solutions to project challenges
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in modeling, takeoffs, and documentation
