Responsibilities:
- Developing an authentic, genuine, and caring relationship with external client(s) using active listening, empathy, and strong questioning skills that will enable you to better understand the client's pain points and key desired outcomes
- Establishing trust and credibility with the client, direct reports, and company leadership by employing responsive project management tactics such as detailed project planning, meticulous monitoring of execution, effective risk management, open communication, and robust quality assurance
- Nurturing the client relationship by thoughtfully making recommendations and decisions independently
- Developing and nurturing friendly, flexible, and supportive relationships with direct reports and peers that will encourage open and honest communication as challenges arise
- Inspiring the client, associated stakeholders (e.g., the client's customer base, subject matter experts), and direct reports through the application of current trends, creative solutioning, and optimistic problem-solving efforts
- Offering expertise and insight to unique opportunities that would bolster client capacity and efficiency through a process of agile learning and collaborative management
- Remaining resilient and poised in the face of adversity, and applying problem-solving and strong communication skills, as well as resourcefulness, to tackle obstacles gracefully
- Supporting client engagement and progress by remaining one step ahead of the client to anticipate needs, potential obstacles, and/or challenges based on knowledge of client preferences, direct report skillset, and ongoing monitoring and oversight of project activities, scope, and cost
- Preparing clear, concise, and client-ready meeting minutes, reports, and work products using exceptional writing and quality control skills
- Implementing and evaluating proposed products and recommendations based on iterative prototyping and testing
- Demonstrating impact, value, and/or return on investment by applying Kirkpatrick and/or Phillips Evaluation Models and identifying quantitative and qualitative improvements
- Operating with an entrepreneurial mindset by seeking or uncovering opportunities to further support the client and expand the relationship
Requirements:
- Formal education and/or certification in Instructional Design, I/O Psychology, or equivalent
- 5+ years of hands-on learning strategy, instructional design, training, and/or I/O Psychology
- 3+ years of experience in managing people and performance, including direct management of at least 3 FTEs
- 3+ years of experience in the full cycle of professional services delivery, including budgeting, resource planning, and contract management
- 3+ years of experience managing onsite and remote project teams, including external workforce team members (e.g., contractors and teaming partners)
- 3+ years of experience in closely managing a project plan to meet deadlines and produce high-quality deliverables that meet client quality expectations
- Demonstrated experience managing a portfolio of projects, including individual project budgets ranging from $500k to $1M
- Experience managing both fixed fee and time & material contracts
- Proven ability to negotiate and make recommendations to change client requirements (e.g., scope, direction)
- Proficiency in project management tools such as Smartsheet or Microsoft Project
- Proficiency with video meeting platforms and features (e.g., Zoom, Google Meets, MS Teams, etc.)
- Proficient in presentation and meeting facilitation skills
- Intermediate level skill in the Google Suite or similar system environment (e.g., Microsoft Office) and its typical applications (e.g., documents, spreadsheets, presentations, process maps, shared folder management)
- Certification in project or program management (e.g, PMP from PMI, PRINCE2)
- Certification in a relevant discipline by industry organizations (e.g., SHRM, HCI, ATD)
- Certification or formal training in methodology supporting quick identification of problems and pivoting the approach to support the solution path (e.g., Agile, Scrum)
- Experience in change management and human-centred design
- Experience with building dashboards, collecting data, conducting data analyses, and making data-driven decisions
- Ability to contribute to proposals for potential client work
- Master's level degree
