Prudent Technologies and Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Data Engineer to support the implementation of Mayo Clinic’s Globus Managed File Transfer platform. The role involves managing secure data transfers, optimizing performance, and ensuring compliance with security standards while collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- The contractor will support the implementation, configuration, and operationalization of Mayo Clinic’s Globus Managed File Transfer (MFT) platform within a GCP-hosted Data DMZ environment
- Responsibilities include completing Globus Connect Server deployment, configuring storage gateways and data transfer workflows, and onboarding research users while providing Tier 1/2 operational support
- The role will focus on managing large-scale, secure data transfers, maintaining platform health, optimizing performance, and ensuring compliance with security and governance standards (HIPAA, NIST, Zero-Trust)
- The contractor will work closely with internal teams and stakeholders to establish operational processes, support production readiness, and deliver documentation and knowledge transfer to enable long-term ownership by the Enterprise Interfaces team
Requirements:
- 3+ years Globus platform experience (GCS v5, endpoints, collections)
- Strong GCP (Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, IAM, networking)
- Linux system administration and scripting (Bash)
- Understanding of GridFTP and high-throughput data transfers
- Experience with networking, security, and Zero-Trust principles
- Background in MFT or large-scale data transfer environments
