The Community Solution Education System is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead strategic initiatives within their Project Management Office (PMO) in a fast-paced IT environment. The role involves managing a portfolio of technical and operational projects, ensuring project delivery, governance, and stakeholder collaboration.
Responsibilities:
- Manage 2–5 concurrent projects across technical, operational, and service delivery domains
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, and deliverables
- Deliver projects on time, within scope, budget, and quality standards
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues
- Apply Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies based on project needs
- Lead IT change management processes, including documentation, approvals, and tracking
- Manage the IT project intake lifecycle, including prioritization and resource alignment
- Maintain PMO standards, templates, tools, and governance processes
- Ensure compliance with organizational and technology governance requirements
- Provide weekly or bi-weekly project status updates to stakeholders
- Facilitate project meetings, design sessions, and executive reviews
- Collaborate with both technical teams and business stakeholders to align priorities
- Prepare reporting dashboards using Jira, Microsoft Teams, and related tools
- Identify process improvement opportunities to reduce delivery timelines and increase efficiency
- Promote adoption of standardized project management practices
- Ensure all project documentation is complete, and current
Requirements:
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Hands-on experience with Jira, or comparable project management tools
- Ability to manage both project-based work and ongoing operational responsibilities
- Experience producing structured project reporting (status reports, dashboards, metrics)
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field or 8+ years of equivalent professional experience in IT project management
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or minimum 7 years of project management experience in lieu of certification
- Minimum 5 years of IT project management experience
- Experience managing at least 2–3 concurrent projects at one time
- Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments
- Experience working with AI-assisted, automated workflows, or digital process tools in a professional setting
- Experience in higher education, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations
- Experience working with Student Information Systems (SIS), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms, and Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Knowledge of FERPA or other data privacy/regulatory frameworks
