Xceedance provides strategic operations support and technology services to the insurance industry. They are seeking a Quality Engineering Architect to lead quality engineering engagements for insurance clients, focusing on delivering excellence in testing programs and collaborating with various teams to achieve business objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Lead complex testing engagements for insurance clients across policy, billing, claims, distribution, rating, forms, documents, data, integrations, and reporting
- Own overall testing delivery across functional testing, system integration testing, end-to-end testing, UAT support, regression testing, automation, and non-functional testing
- Manage large onshore, offshore, and hybrid testing teams across multiple workstreams and releases
- Establish test strategy, test plans, governance models, delivery metrics, reporting cadence, and quality gates
- Drive execution predictability, risk management, defect governance, stakeholder communication, and release readiness
- Ensure delivery excellence through strong planning, prioritization, estimation, resource management, and continuous improvement
- Partner with client technology, business, product, QA, and program leadership teams to align testing outcomes with business objectives
- Bring strong P&C insurance domain knowledge to design meaningful business scenarios across policy lifecycle, billing operations, claims management, underwriting, rating, commissions, payments, reinsurance, and downstream integrations
- Guide teams in developing domain-led test strategies, business process coverage, test data models, and end-to-end validation scenarios
- Support Guidewire, Duck Creek, and other insurance platform implementation, upgrade, migration, modernization, and transformation initiatives
- Validate business-critical journeys across quote-to-bind, policy servicing, endorsement, renewal, cancellation, billing, payments, FNOL, reserves, claims payments, recoveries, and reporting
- Lead quality engineering transformation initiatives for clients, including QA to QE transformation, TCoE setup or optimization, automation maturity improvement, Agile testing enablement, DevOps quality integration, and risk-based testing
- Assess current-state testing maturity and define future-state operating models, roadmaps, tools, frameworks, metrics, and governance structures
- Recommend fit-for-purpose testing models, including managed testing services, staff augmentation, outcome-based delivery, and hybrid delivery models
- Identify opportunities to improve test coverage, reduce cycle time, increase automation, improve defect prevention, and enhance release confidence
- Define automation strategy across UI, API, integration, regression, data validation, and end-to-end business process testing
- Provide leadership on automation frameworks, tools, accelerators, reusable assets, CI/CD integration, and automation ROI
- Guide teams on modern automation approaches using tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, RestAssured, Tosca, Tricentis, UFT, or equivalent tools
- Provide oversight for non-functional testing areas including performance testing, scalability, reliability, security testing coordination, accessibility, compatibility, and resilience testing
- Work with specialized teams to define performance test strategy, workload models, SLA validation, bottleneck analysis, and production readiness
- Work closely with Client Partners, Business Development, Presales, and Delivery teams to identify, shape, and solution testing opportunities
- Lead discovery discussions with client stakeholders to understand business challenges, testing pain points, current maturity, and transformation goals
- Develop testing proposals, solution approaches, effort estimates, operating models, staffing plans, transition plans, and commercial inputs
- Contribute to RFP/RFI responses, capability presentations, client workshops, oral presentations, and solution defense discussions
- Position domain-led testing, automation, non-functional testing, managed services, TCoE, and testing transformation offerings to clients
- Support account growth by identifying cross-sell and upsell opportunities within existing insurance accounts
- Act as a senior interface between client stakeholders, CP/BD teams, onshore leadership, and offshore delivery teams
- Translate client needs into actionable delivery plans for offshore teams
- Ensure smooth communication, expectation management, escalation handling, and governance across distributed teams
- Mentor offshore QA managers, test leads, automation architects, and domain SMEs
- Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders and internal leadership teams
Requirements:
- 15+ years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, or quality engineering
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in Property & Casualty insurance domain
- Proven experience leading large and complex testing engagements for insurance clients in the USA
- Strong experience with P&C insurance platforms such as Guidewire, Duck Creek, or comparable core insurance systems
- Experience in at least one full lifecycle Guidewire or Duck Creek implementation, upgrade, migration, modernization, or transformation program
- Demonstrated experience in system integration testing, end-to-end functional testing, UAT support, regression testing, automation testing, and non-functional testing
- Experience working with distributed onshore-offshore delivery models
- Proven ability to work with client partners, business development teams, presales teams, and offshore delivery teams
- Experience creating testing proposals, solution approaches, estimates, delivery models, and client presentations
- Strong understanding of automation-first and domain-led testing approaches
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, leadership, and consulting skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, Insurance, or a related field
