Emeren Group Ltd. is a leading global solar project developer, owner, and operator with a focus on solar power and storage project development. They are seeking a highly skilled Project Development Manager to support the development of photovoltaic, hybrid, and battery storage projects across the United States, guiding projects from origination to construction and financing.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Project Origination: Assist in the identification and acquisition of high-potential energy sites, interconnection positions, and project in order to build a robust project pipeline
- Site Development & Due Diligence: Assist in site evaluations, feasibility assessments, and risk mitigation strategies to eliminate fatal flaws early in development
- Permitting & Stakeholder Engagement: Determine and execute the permitting plan of development, establishing strong relationships with local stakeholders, regulatory authorities and key decision-makers
- Interconnection Strategy: Assist the Transmission and Interconnection Team to determine optimal points of interconnection and feasibility, securing necessary easements and grid access
- Market Expertise & Compliance: Work in partnership with the Commercial Execution Team to maintain comprehensive knowledge of solar development rules, legislation, tax guidelines, and interconnection protocols specific to assigned development territories
- Financial Leadership: Collaborate on project financial modeling to achieve realistic and competitive financial outcomes
- Industry Representation: Serve as a thought leader and expert representative at local trade events and industry forums
- Competitive Intelligence: Assist in the development of insights into market trends and competitor activities to maintain a strategic advantage
- Vendor & Partner Management: Establish relationships with third-party service providers, including consulting engineers and legislative consultants
- Reporting: Prepare and present project status reports and presentations to senior management; Track and report on project performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs)
Requirements:
- 3-5+ years of experience in the renewable energy sector related to project development, engineering, permitting, real estate or other relevant functions
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- Proven experience in project management and project execution
- Strategic understanding and knowledge of the development of solar, storage, and hybrid energy projects required
- Experience working with landowners, permitting agencies, utilities, consultants, and community stakeholders
- Proven track record of managing and executing complex projects to successful completion
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate critical contracts and navigate regulatory environments
- Position will be remote with regular travel at approximately 50%
- Position will report directly to a Regional Development Director
- Familiarity with NYISO, PJM, SERC, CAISO, or SPP markets preferred
