AiMinr is seeking a mid-level Mining Processing Engineer with a blend of plant operations and technical study experience to support and manage processing workstreams for mining projects. This role is ideal for someone who understands how processing plants actually run and can translate that practical knowledge into high-quality studies and analyses.
Responsibilities:
- Support and manage processing workstreams for mining projects
- Contribute to or manage processing inputs for PEA, PFS, or Feasibility Studies
- Develop flowsheets, mass and water balances, and equipment sizing
- Conduct process design criteria, Capex/Opex estimation, and trade-off studies
- Work closely with mining engineers, geologists, tailings engineers, environmental specialists, vendors, and project managers
- Prepare technical reports and present recommendations to stakeholders
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related discipline only if they understand mining
- 5 to 8 years of experience across mineral processing operations and/or technical consulting, with practical exposure to concentrators, hydrometallurgical plants, comminution circuits, flotation, leaching, dewatering, tailings, or related processing systems
- Direct plant or site experience is strongly preferred. We want someone who understands the realities of throughput, recovery, availability, reagent use, sampling, maintenance constraints, and metallurgical accounting, not just the theory
- Experience contributing to or managing processing inputs for PEA, PFS, or Feasibility Studies, including flowsheet development, mass and water balances, equipment sizing, process design criteria, Capex/Opex estimation, and trade-off studies
- Strong command of mineral processing calculations, testwork interpretation, process modeling, and engineering documentation
- Ability to work closely with mining engineers, geologists, tailings engineers, environmental specialists, vendors, and project managers to develop practical, defensible technical study outputs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare technical reports, explain assumptions clearly, and present recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship now or in the future
- Direct plant or site experience is strongly preferred
- Experience with tools such as JKSimMet, METSIM, SysCAD, HSC Chemistry, Bruno, AggFlow, or similar platforms is preferred
