FWI (FedWriters, Inc.) is seeking a Senior Project Manager to support the USDA Forest Service Office of Regulatory and Management Services by leading project-management support across the agency's content and correspondence systems. The role involves developing project management plans, tracking milestones, facilitating executive meetings, and ensuring operational efficiency across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, execute, and maintain the Project Management Plan (PMP), including work breakdown structure, project schedule, milestones, and risk and quality management
- Track milestones across ORMS strategic initiatives and alert leadership to critical dates affecting Government decisions
- Prepare and submit monthly progress reports, an annual summary report, and special status reports as needed
- Facilitate executive meetings — managing agendas and documenting minutes, action items, and decisions
- Provide technical project management for correspondence-management systems (ICCT, ECMM, CoRe), public-inquiry workflows, Section 508 compliance, and collaboration tools such as SharePoint
- Produce standard operating procedures, briefing materials, business case documents, and transition / knowledge-transfer plans
- Oversee quality control and ensure all deliverables meet performance standards and acceptable quality levels (AQLs)
Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years of experience providing business services to Federal organizations
- Subject matter expertise in Federal Records Management, including FOIA and FACA requirements
- Working knowledge of Section 508 regulations and compliance
- Demonstrated expertise in technical writing for the Federal Government
- Minimum 2 years of experience with Federal correspondence management systems
- Eligible to obtain a USDA PIV credential (LincPass) / Common Access Card (CAC) and to pass required identity verification
- Experience supporting natural resource or land-management organizations (viewed favorably for this requirement)
- Familiarity with USDA / Forest Service business applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and Adobe Acrobat
- Knowledge of process-improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean / Six Sigma) and federal content management practices
