About this role
gpac is a respected structural steel fabricator and erector specializing in commercial and industrial projects throughout the United States. They are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Project Manager to oversee the successful execution of fabrication and erection projects from award through closeout.
Responsibilities:
- Manage structural steel fabrication and erection projects from kickoff through completion
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and production milestones
- Coordinate with clients, engineers, detailers, fabrication teams, and erection crews
- Review contracts, drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and change orders
- Monitor project costs, labor productivity, and overall project performance
- Ensure compliance with AISC standards, project requirements, and quality expectations
- Identify and resolve project issues while maintaining positive client relationships
- Conduct project meetings and provide regular updates to company leadership
- Support field operations and travel to project sites as needed
Requirements:
- 5+ years of Project Management experience within the structural steel industry
- Proven experience managing both structural steel fabrication and erection projects
- Strong understanding of commercial and industrial steel construction
- Working knowledge of AISC standards and structural steel best practices
- Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Experience managing project schedules, budgets, RFIs, submittals, and change orders
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common construction management software
