Full-Stack Product Engineer

Basis Set is a company focused on democratizing innovative tax-planning strategies. They are seeking a Full-Stack Product Engineer to build product features from idea to production, leveraging AI tools to enhance development efficiency and collaborating across teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Build full-stack product features from idea to production - frontend, backend APIs, data models, admin tools, tests, and deployment
• Turn ambiguous product ideas into clear technical plans
• Partner with design, product, operations, and leadership to decide what to build
• Use AI tools and coding agents to accelerate implementation, testing, debugging, refactoring, and documentation - and review what they produce before it ships
• Write clear specs, prompts, and implementation plans that humans and AI agents can follow
• Build solid tests around important business logic, especially tax and financial calculations
• Improve our onboarding, calculator, trust-management, and advisor-facing products - plus the AI-powered support, recommendation, and operations tools behind them
• Help automate manual operations so a small team can serve thousands of customers
• Improve CI/CD, deployment, observability, and production support - and keep the system simple and maintainable
